Ten Rules for Marrying a Duke by Michelle McLean. Historical Romance Release & ARC Review.

Bookish Arabella Bromley never gave a fig for society’s rules—until her sister ran off with a man below her station. Now Arabella is desperate to restore her family’s ruined reputation to favor amongst the ton. She’ll have to marry quickly and well. But in order to carry off her plan, Arabella needs a duke… and she has just the rakish fellow in mind.

The Duke of Whittsley has an ungentlemanly tendency to disregard the rules. Unfortunately, a sense of mischief doesn’t excuse a high-ranking noble from family duty—especially where it concerns producing a son. And that’s where he can’t quite resist Arabella’s distinctly outrageous plan: if he saves her family, she’ll give him an heir.

Now the deal’s been struck. They have one year to achieve their goals and ten iron-clad rules to keep them on track. Like long, scorching kisses and ensuring they’re both exquisitely satisfied. And the only thing that could ruin their plan is the one thing they never planned on: love.

⭐⭐⭐⭐

There is nothing Miss Arabella Bromley wants less than a husband.  Unfortunately due to a scandal, she needs a very high ranking one immediately. Our heroine comes up with the perfect plan,  find one that doesn't want a wife.
Silas Spencer,  the Duke of Whittsley is the last male in his line and knows he needs an heir.  He is enjoying his life too much as it is to want a wife to change it.  Our hero is an easy going man,  but he does hide a secret.
This is a gentle, fun filled historical romance.  With a sensible and intelligent heroine and a mischievous hero.  No great surprises in this story but a very enjoyable book.
Good fun.

Michelle McLean grew up in California and has lived everywhere from the deserts of Utah to the tropical beaches of Hawaii to the gorgeous forests of the east coast. The oldest of five children, she is generally an organized mess with crazy eclectic tastes. She has a B.S. in History, a M.A. in English, an insatiable love of books, and more weird quirks than she’d like to admit.

Michelle’s a jeans and t-shirt kind of girl who secretly wishes she could run around town in a big, poofy dress from the 1600s and hopes to someday be able to get away with crazy stuff like that by chalking it up to her eccentric writer personality. She’s addicted to chocolate and goldfish crackers and occasionally writes by hand just so she can hear the scratchy sound of her favourite gel pen on a sheet of paper. Her husband also swears she has conversations with herself, but she and the voices in her head heartily disagree.

Her non-writing hobbies include playing piano, cross-stitching (well, it’s been awhile…she’s been meaning to take that up again), and decorating cakes. Mostly though, if she’s not editing, reading, or chasing her kids around, she can usually be found in a quiet corner (assuming school is in session occupying her little angels) working on her next book.

In addition to her husband and two awesome kids, she also has two amazing stepkids and one beyond-adorable step-grandson. She currently resides in Pennsylvania with her husband and two kidlets, an insanely hyper dog, and three very spoiled cats.
